Malcolm was born in Richmond, VIC on 11 November 1904 to parents John Brooks (1839-1915) and LElizabeth Kingwill "Lillian" Gay Richards (1861-1931). He died at St George Basin, NSW on 15 June 1976. Malcolm's Story
Malcolm was born in Richmond, VIC on 11 November 1904 to parents John Brooks (1839-1915) and LElizabeth Kingwill "Lillian" Gay Richards (1861-1931). (VIC BDM 5684/1905)
He died in an Ambulance while be conveyed from his holiday home in St George Basin, NSW on 15 June 1976.

He was cremated at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Leppington, NSW: Tranquility Rose Garden; Position 258; Site A

Malcolm Melbourne Brooks (1.3.4.3B) was born to John Brooks (1839-1915) and Lillian Richards (1860-1931). It was a 2nd marriage for widow Lillian.
Working Life: Malcolm was an electrician by trade and worked at Metters Limited in Alexandria NSW for many years. He worked his way up through the Management team eventually ending in the Research and Development areas at the time of his retirement. He was nicknamed "Mandrake" as it was believed he "could do anything". His prototype of the twintub washing machine was donated to the Hurstville Historical Society.
Personal & Community Life: In his younger days he supplemented the family's income by participating in and winning amateur cycling races and was a member of the Maroubra Cycling Club. He was a lifesaver at Maroubra and while surfing at Bondi in February 1938, helped in a mass rescue when 250 swimmers were swept out to sea. His two eldest children sat on the beach and watched while he, and many others, went into the water time and time again. He and his wife Ollie were founding members of the Mortdale Bowling Club and they had their own practise bowling green in their backyard. He was a Past Master of the Robert Burns Masonic Lodge No 21.
